On April 14th 2014, 276 teenage schoolgirls were abducted from their dormitories by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, in Chibok, NorthEast Nigeria. The world watched in shock as videos of the young girls, surrounded by armed terrorists, surfaced on the internet.
Five years on, 112 of the girls remain in captivity. But Yana Galang, the protagonist and mother of one of the kidnapped schoolgirls, is hopeful about the eventual return of her daughter and the remaining girls.
Daughters of Chibok is a story of the loss, pain, and strength – the outstanding bravery of these Chibok women who are steadfastly keeping hope alive, believing that someday their daughters will return home into their arms.
